The Tree

Tree in Storm.jpg

Face up
I lie staring
At your graceful limbs
Lifting toward the sky,  conducting
Storm clouds.

I took this picture on March 11, 2018 at the Bayou Segnette State Park in Louisiana.  It was a stormy day and this tree caught my eye.  I literally laid down on the ground to get a picture that isolated the tree against the storm clouds.

Forgotten Rose

Rose.jpg

Red Rose,
Lovely long stem;
He placed before her feet.
There it lies. She walked by; her gaze
Out to sea.

April 1, 2018 I saw this rose lying on the beach looking forlorn, and was feeling a little melancholy, listening to sad music while walking; so this was the result.

quiet morning walk

Over my neighbor's fence and into the woods with one glance backward.

A pretty little fly enjoying the soft petal of my Japanese Dogwood.

My neighbors' sweet Australian Shepherd, Bartley, walked with me today.
